These water-based paints come in 7 main acrylic paint lines: base (for painting base coats), layer, contrast (for use over light colors), shade (for washing), dry and technical (for various effects). There are also Citadel Air paints formulated for spraying, but you can thin and spray regular citadel base, layer, contrast and shade paints through an airbrush too using acrylic thinner. Each line is used in a different stage in the miniature painting process. Though designed for the Warhammer tabletop game, these versatile paints can be used for virtually any model kit.
