Ready to participate in the 5th Annual Poor Boys RC Speed Run Challenge? We're teaming up with Poor Boys RC to give you a leg up on the competition! This package contains both the Tamiya Frog 1/10 Buggy Kit for the competition AND comes with a MIP Super Ball Differential Kit to replace a component inside the buggy.

What Is the Poor Boys RC Speed Run Challenge?

Participants start with a designated Tamiya platform and attempt to build the fastest vehicle possible within the challenge rules. Competitors submit GPS-verified speed runs, and standings are tracked throughout the event on the Poor Boys RC channel. 

Why the Ball Differential Matters

For speed runs, the ball diff is one of the most desirable upgrades because it:

• Runs smoother than the stock gear differential.
• Reduces drivetrain drag.
• Allows more precise tuning of power delivery.
• Helps maintain stability during high-speed acceleration.

About the Tamiya Frog 1/10 Off Road 2WD Buggy Kit

The legend returns. Originally released in 1983, The Frog became one of the most iconic R/C buggies ever produced, combining eye-catching styling with impressive off-road performance. This modern re-release faithfully recreates the original experience while incorporating select updates to improve durability and reliability for today's drivers.

Built around its distinctive ABS space-frame chassis, The Frog features a lightweight yet rugged design capable of tackling dirt, gravel, grass, and rough terrain with confidence. The advanced independent suspension system uses inboard front springs and oil-filled rear dampers to soak up bumps and jumps, while the sealed differential gearbox and efficient drivetrain help deliver smooth power to the rear wheels.

This updated version includes redesigned aluminum oil dampers inspired by modern TRF shock technology, improved dogbone-style rear drive shafts with protective rubber boots, and realistic three-piece wheels fitted with ribbed front tires and high-grip rear spike tires for authentic vintage buggy performance.
