The SS396 Camaro everyone wanted in 1970 was actually a 402, though Chevy kept the 396 badge. Rated at 375HP, it actually made much more but, as was custom in the day, Chevy understated the power to keep the insurance companies at bay. Any way you cut the cake, it was a brute!
