Scheduled Maintenance - Feb 2026
New Website Incoming
Hello fellow hobbyists!
We’ve been building a new website and will be deploying it on the morning of February 2nd. To spare you all the nitty-gritties, this new platform will work better internally and allow us to serve our customers better. I’m (Liam) very excited about it!
There will be a disruption of service to our website on Monday, February 2nd at 6:30 PM. During this time, the site will not be reachable and order fulfilment will be paused as we implement the changeover. Service will resume the morning of February 3rd with the new site!
Customer Accounts
Since we are moving away from Shopify, your customer account credentials with our current website (2025) will not work for the new iteration. However, the new website will use the local data from our brick & mortar store's customer database. All users have to do is create an account with the same email as we have currently on file with your account, and if your details match up then the accounts will collate into one.
If the details don't match up, that's okay, we will sort it out on our end and contact you to verify. Once the new site launches, I will include a help page about creating an account and linking it with your store account if you already have one. Trust me, this sounds more complicated than it is.
Expected Issues
There will likely be some small issues for us to fix to ensure smooth operation of the new platform. I am confident it will be fully functional and usable by EOD Tuesday February 3rd. A new FAQ will go up to help users adjust to a slightly different system, and I am reachable from Monday-Thursday at liam@bchobbies.com to assist.
Future Changes
Following that, we will be reverting back to a cash-based loyalty system instead of a points-based one. It will work both in-store and online, and give you the opportunity to spend your loyalty balance at any level instead of waiting to reach a redeemable tier. I will be updating the community once we begin working on that - the new loyalty system will be implemented at a later date. But that's for another day - the website comes first!
Thanks for your patience as we tackle this job.
Liam
